Michael Mott

Michael Mott was appointed Senior Vice President, Enterprise Transformation at NextDecade in July 2024 and named Interim Chief Financial Officer in October 2025. He joined the company in June 2021 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy, and later served as Senior Vice President, Carbon Solutions. Prior to NextDecade, Mike held leadership roles across start-up, growth and mature stage companies in domestic and international markets. From 2014 to 2020, he was Chief Financial Officer at LNG Limited. Before that, he spent more than a decade at BG Group where he led strategy, finance and operations in the Global LNG business, oversaw upstream to downstream operations across the Americas and served as Senior Vice President – Health, Safety, Security and Environment, responsible for BG Group’s global workforce. Earlier in his career, Mike held senior risk management and accounting roles at Dynegy Inc., including Senior Vice President – Chief Accounting Officer and Controller from 2001 to 2003. He began his career at Price Waterhouse LLP, focusing on multinational energy majors and North American upstream independents. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma.
