Location Advantages
Our site is located at the Port of Brownsville in South Texas on approximately 1,000 acres. The site has the following advantages:
- Access to abundant natural gas resources
- 15,000 feet of frontage on an uncongested waterway
- A history of fewer and less severe weather events than other U.S. Gulf Coast locations
- Access to abundant skilled labor
- Favorable geotechnical conditions

Jobs
We are growing with the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) community. Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) is providing more than 7,500 construction and trade worker jobs and approximately 700 long-term jobs in the RGV once the facility is operating. We expect a vast majority of the onsite workforce to be from the RGV.
Community Commitment
We are committed to the RGV community and foster long-term partnerships with local stakeholders to create value, provide opportunities, and contribute to a thriving community for all. Since announcing the positive final investment decision on Phase 1 of RGLNG in 2023, the project’s economic impact has totaled more than $400 million in spending with local businesses and more than $2.2 million in community investments and charitable giving.

Carbon Capture and Storage
We are exploring a potential carbon capture and storage project at RGLNG. We are evaluating subsurface and technical options, as well as potential avenues for commercialization.
