Coordination between various disciplines and ensuring seamless interaction between NextDecade and Bechtel project team for the Rio Grande LNG liquefaction project with emphasis on civil/mechanical scope
Interfacing with the regulatory/permitting team
Offsite coordination for Rio Grande LNG with key stakeholders (including the Port of Brownsville)
Interfacing with Rio Bravo Pipeline Project Manager
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manages technical interfaces as well as interface with operations & maintenance
Supports engineering quality assurance processes
Coordinates between the various NextDecade disciplines to integrate feedback and comments on design activities and documents prepared by Bechtel
Coordinates review and approval of technical queries and deviation requests for civil and mechanical scope (such as structural steel, process equipment items including pumps, compressors, critical service control valves, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and process heaters)
Offsite coordination for Rio Grande LNG
Interfaces with the Rio Bravo Pipeline Project Manager
Interfaces with the regulatory/permitting team and coordinate the technical support for the FERC regulatory process
Interfaces with the cost estimating, document management and project controls disciplines in the team
Provides HSE best practices in project design, engineering, and construction including Human Factors Engineering and Inherently Safe Design
Participate in HAZID’s, HAZOP’s, SIL studies, Independent Project Reviews, Cold Eyes Reviews, Constructability Assessments, 3D Model Reviews, and Value Improvement Workshops
Provides technical input for project FID cost estimate including Owners Costs
Participates in the development of the key EPC documents including contract work scope documents and required procedures
Experience and educational background:
Engineering degree chartered professional engineer
Knowledge of project management principles and overall knowledge of EPC project phases.
Extensive knowledge of engineering methods, systems, and requirements including industry codes and standards relevant to the oil and gas industry
Project engineering experience on LNG liquefaction project(s) preferably through all project phases from detailed engineering to final completion.
Knowledge of U.S. permitting processes
Minimum 5 – 10 years’ experience in LNG projects of which at least five years in liquefaction
Travel requirements:
Will be resident for most of the time in Contractor’s offices in Houston
Often Fridays back in NextDecade’s offices
Will move with the project to site in Brownsville when engineering activities will be largely completed
